"Coachella is a great place of experimentation that becomes a giant trash heap"

After our class presentation on Olafur Eliasson and our brief discussion on whether art needs to carry a message for it to be impactful, I was reminded of the Coachella/Instagram art that was brought up. This was a thought provoking opinion piece in my opinion, and the small comment section made me really wonder if the art put up at these music festivals (which is there for aesthetics rather than for political reasons) are really just viewed as mere trash at the end of the day. The writer states that "the biggest problem for me is that this all goes away after two weeks," and that this lack of permanence gives the art its charm. 

The art -- as you can see below -- is definitely vibrant with color and very aesthetically pleasing. But does the fact that it does not hold any specific political implications mean that it is not an important piece of art? Some things to think about...
