Moving Facade - Architecture in Motion
There's the saying goes, architecture is solidifying music. So what comes out when the architecture is moving? (Mozart, I guess?)
Here I want to share with you 5 unique building designs with moving facades. Reasons behind the moving function of facades range from prevention and utilization of sunshine, diversity of experience of sight, and as media for LED display.
The architecture on the first frame is a work of Thomas Heatherwick, the same architect of Hudson Yards. His works are very creative. The UK Pavilion in 2010 Shanghai World Expo is a great example.
Here's the website of his studio. This genius got sponsored from his teacher to open his own studio right after he graduated from Royal College of Art.
