#IntimateAndy
For all of our Andy Warhol fans, it's been announced that the Andy Warhol Foundation will be releasing 70 rarely seen photographs of Warhol on its Instagram page @warholfoundation starting this Monday, April 29th through May 11th.
The Warhol Foundation is encouraging other organizations and accounts that have rare photos of Warhol to post them with the #IntimateAndy so that everyone can get involved. While the photos released are part of the Andy Warhol Photography Archive which is free and accessible online, it's interesting (while maybe no surprise) to see the use of social media as a more prominent platform to share these images.
This is not the first time the public has been able to engage with Warhol through unexpected media this year - footage of the artist made its way to screens across the country in Burger King's Super Bowl ad this year.
